Chapter One :Chapter 1

"Kid, you're haggling too much. You're only offering twenty for a USB stick. Even though it's second-hand, it's worth more than this."

"Look how beaten up this is. I don't even know if it can be used. If it doesn't work, wouldn't I be at a huge loss?" Lin Fengyi picked up the dilapidated USB drive in his hand and swung it around with a look of disgust.

The stall owner wore a troubled expression and after a long consideration, he acquiesced in a disheartened tone, "You're tough. Take it for twenty, I..."

Time is money. Lin Fengyi promptly handed the vendor twenty bucks and left with the USB drive and his backpack without a backward glance.

"Click" With a push of the door, Lin Fengyi entered. The house was still empty, his parents weren't home yet. As usual, he cooked the meal then went into his room.

"I don't know if it'll work. If it doesn't, I'll find the vendor tomorrow," he murmured while fiddling with the USB drive in his hand.

As soon as he inserted the USB into the computer and turned it on, there was a flash and the screen went straight into an installation interface.

"What in the world is this?" Lin Fengyi got a shock. He saw written on the screen, "Super Shop Component is being installed. Please do not close this program to prevent damage to your computer."

Originally, he wanted to pull out the USB, but after seeing this, he didn't dare to move recklessly. He could only stare at the progress bar reaching 100%.

"Ding dong", after the unknown component was completely installed, the screen switched again to a shopping website that resembled an online marketplace.

"Ugh, who would buy anything from such a fake website?" Lin Fengyi scorned at the site, already prepared to reboot the computer when a pop-up window caught his attention and left him frozen.

"2115's most outstanding invention, mnemonic aid potion, now officially onboard in Super Shop…"

"2115? Mnemonic aid potion?" Lin Fengyi felt his head spinning. If this was true, wouldn't that mean the shopping site comes from a hundred years into the future?

Thinking about it, he sneered lightly, "This must be some prank by a bore with nothing better to do, boasting about a shop from a hundred years in the future. Who's he trying to fool?"

"But they've made it rather realistic, let's have a closer look," With nothing much to do, Lin Fengyi decided not to close it, and read on for the fun of it.

"Fully realistic robots, can cook, wash clothes, even warm the bed..."

"Genetic enhancement potions, can significantly change one's physique, until the body reaches peak human condition..."

One by one, things that only exist in sci-fi movies appeared before Lin Fengyi, overwhelming him.

"Eh, free to take?" After a short while, Lin Fengyi's eyes lit up because he saw a snack that was marked as free to take.

...

"Should I... give it a try?" After hesitating for a moment, Lin Fengyi made up his mind, "After all, it won't cost me just to click."

Confidently clicking on the 'Take' button, Lin Fengyi waited for the page to redirect, ready to fill in the shipping address, but the interface did not redirect. Instead, the computer screen instantly turned blue.

"Just as I thought, fake website, even has a virus, despicable," Looking at the blue screen, Lin Fengyi couldn't help but raise his middle finger.

Just when he was about to restart, the already blue screen, like ripples, began to expand, something jumped out of the computer screen.

"Ah..." Seeing this eerie scene, Lin Fengyi let out a scream and quickly took several steps back, watching the thing on the computer desk with cautious eyes.

"Gulp," When he saw clearly what was on the desk, Lin Fengyi swallowed hard and stuttered, "Thi...This seems to be the snack I just got."

After confirming repeatedly, Lin Fengyi finally fully affirmed it, and carefully walked to the computer desk, picking up that pack of snacks.

"This..." Lin Fengyi's brain went haywire, he couldn't understand how such a pack of snacks came out of a computer screen.

"Could it be, this website really is from a hundred years in the future?" Glancing at the screen that had already returned to the website, Lin Fengyi's breathing began to grow heavy.

Even though this seemed like a tall tale, the package of snacks in Lin Fengyi's hand told him that this was real, it was not a special effect.

"Gulp," Lin Fengyi swallowed again, his eyes filled with excitement as he settled back in front of his computer. He muttered to himself, "If all of this is real, then even if I don't want to be successful or wealthy, I won't have a choice."

Lin Fengyi's wish was simple. He wanted to have an endless supply of money. As cliche as it may sound, ninety percent of the world's population shared the same wish as him.

In the past, he could only fantasize. He wasn't born into a wealthy family. His parents were just ordinary workers, and he was still a student with average academic performance.

But this future shop undoubtedly brought him endless hope. As long as it was well-managed, wealth would be within his grasp, and nothing could stop him.

However, he was now facing a very difficult issue. He had no money, or to be precise, he lacked a type of future currency called "Stardust."

...

But as the saying goes, "Every cloud has a silver lining." After much hardship, Lin Fengyi finally found a way to earn Stardust — Resource Recycling.

Resource Recycling refers to selling unwanted belongings directly to the Super Shop officials at a price that is 30% lower than the market price.

Although this might seem unfair, it was Lin Fengyi's only option given he didn't have his own shop and couldn't sell his belongings independently. At least he could earn some initial capital via this feature.

"What should I sell?" Lin Fengyi examined the items in his house. However, none of them seemed valuable enough to be sold for ten thousand Stardust.

"Snap!" Lin Fengyi smacked his head, standing up suddenly. "How did I forget about that? This resource recycling, isn't that the perfect solution?"

He immediately dived under his bed and took out a box that was stuck to the bottom of the bed with double-sided tape. Due to long neglect, the box was covered in dust.

"Huh…" After blowing away the dust, Lin Fengyi slowly opened the box. Inside was a gold chain as thick as a pinky finger.

Make no mistake, the chain was real gold, not the sort that was just coated with gold paint and sold at street stalls. As for its origin, it was a mystery. Lin Fengyi found it when he was out.

He initially picked it up because the box was pretty and he thought it would be useful for storage. Little did he expect to find a gold chain inside when he opened it.

Lin Fengyi, operating under the premise "finders keepers", took the item he found home. However, he didn't dare to sell it immediately, instead hiding it under his bed. If not for his urgent need for money today, he might have completely forgotten about it.

Sitting back down in front of his computer with the gold necklace, Lin Fengyi firstly registered an account and went straight to the trading platform. In an instant, his computer screen turned blue again, and the previously seen ripple-like vortex appeared once more, looking exceptionally peculiar.

Embracing the saying "No pain, no gain", he gritted his teeth and threw the gold necklace directly into the vortex, then started waiting.

Several seconds later, the computer screen changed once again and a confirmation page popped up, listing the price, as well as options to confirm or cancel the sale.

Naturally, the first thing Lin Fengyi paid attention to was the price. The system displayed an amount of 18,000 star credits, which was not far off from his original estimate.

After pressing the confirm button determinedly, the page immediately disappeared and a notification of successful sale appeared. As soon as Lin Fengyi checked his wallet, the money had instantly been credited.

However, a new problem cropped up. Even though Lin Fengyi now had enough money to start a store, he had absolutely no plan as to what he should sell.

After wracking his brains for quite a while, Lin Fengyi gave up, "I'll give it some more thought later. For now, I'll just save this money and buy some useful stuff."

Setting aside his worries, Lin Fengyi brightened his spirits and started browsing through the various items in the immense online superstore, selecting what he needed.

In the end, he set his sights on the item that had been announced in the pop-up earlier. He murmured to himself, "A memory-enhancing drug, I wonder if it really is as magical as they say."
